With a focus upon the fabulous we have hand-picked a stellar few from Misia-Paris’ new curtain textile designs this year.
Talisman Sacré is an embroidered fabric that comes in two colour-ways. Many of us hang fairly plain curtains, however the large repeat on these drapes provides an opportunity to make a statement. We ask ourselves ‘will we tire of this’, but we think not? We believe that the confidence and creativity shown by this designer will stand the test of time. What can get dull are spaces without interesting design layers, Talisman Sacré, as a curtain is dramatic, here it isn’t too full and one would probably enjoy sitting in the room above for years to come.

Rue du Rosiers
How absolutely perfect is this beautiful curtain for a contemporary South East Asian interior? A large scale take on the bamboo motif, alternative leaves are hand painted with glamorous metallic outlines, and a strong vertical stripe will lengthen the height in the room. We like the smart thin horizontal lines too. Rue du Rosiers is printed on a medium open weave linen, and it is easy to imagine this in either luxe or more relaxed interiors, it is a design that will rejuvenate your space with a single curtain… and maybe a cushion or two? You can use this as an opaque day curtain, or line it for a night curtain.

Sentier des Archives is exquisite, a short piled cotton viscose velvet with a subtle curvaceous design. The design is embossed using an engraved cylinder. This curtain drapes and catches the light like no other.

These richly textured curtains convey a raw style of beauty–a relaxed sophistication that comes from weaving natural fibres. Adoré, on the left, combines thick jute fibers with fancier thinner yarns in varying colors, cutting them at intriguing angles on the face side creates a small but captivating effect. Meanwhile, Flamel, on the right features, a mix of more structured stripes and looser, irregular weaves for a dramatic and eye-catching look. Despite their seemingly effortless appearance, both curtains undoubtedly required a great deal of dedicated effort to craft such exquisite textiles.

Andia is a super modern outdoor and indoor sheer with a good structure, it is not floaty but has a strong form, and at the same time perfect transparency. Excellent beside a pool and it comes in two-tone beige and white and is made from solution dyed fire resistant polyester.

Little Whenzhou
This truly beautiful curtain is undeniably luxurious and poetic, translated from delicate Asian illustrations small golden river plants playfully float and dance upon an embossed background. The metallised yarns are strong and intricate, and it comes in six lovely colours.
