“Boldness, creativity, absolute freedom, sweet obsession, and an invitation to travel…” guided by this philosophy, the Misia-Paris 2021 collection beckons you to an endless summer on the Riviera.

This year, we travel down the coast of the chicest of destinations, the Côte d’Azur.  Its style and history inspire an offering of silks shot with gold, large floral motifs, and iridescent faux leathers.  Sophisticated linens add a relaxed appeal to this unapologetically glamorous collection.

Like the ocean at sunset, shades of celadon, teal, bronze, terracotta, powder pink, and Misia blue jostle in harmony.  Soft pastels, golds, and blacks take us back to the opulence of hotels in the 1920s.  In those exuberant times, painters and novelists flocked to this coast of dreams in search of inspiration.

This video and photographic shoot for Misia-Paris’ 2021 Collection took place at Villa Gaby in Marseilles.

“Propolis” is a luxurious silk jacquard with a beehive pattern of twisted silk threads. The juxtaposition of the smooth satin with the textured golden yarns creates movement and texture. Here it is used to stunning effect as both a curtain and a cushion.

“Parfum du Midi,” on the curtains, is a gorgeous satin cotton print.  This fabric runs wild with beautifully detailed foliage.  You almost expect it to perfume the air with scents of citrus and cypress, lavender, thyme and oleander.

Perhaps the most sophisticated of day curtains, “Lumière sur l’eau” has a laminate coating creating a subtle, elegant sheen.  But it is the open weave design and the colours that make this sheer voile truly remarkable.  It’s also a robust fabric that can be layered on cushions and other pieces.

To the left, “Figuerolles” is a fabric unlike any other.  It’s deliciously silky and light, yet, has a softly textured look and feel.  It comes in a stripe and a coordinating solid ecru. And on the right  “Golfo Paradiso” is a modern tapestry of twenty-two colours including up-cycled cottons. Their twisted yarns create a colourful energetic design that has a sense of movement.

This year’s collection includes linens certified by the “Master of Linen”, they are produced and dyed in the Hauts-de-France region of Northern France. These linens are made using expertise and traditions handed down over generations. At 50,000 martindales, “L’Esteral” is ideal for heavy-duty seating and draping curtains, this is a linen that will remain beautiful for decades.

On the cushion is “L’île d’Or,” a multi-textured, woven, faux leather that comes in three colors. The chair is upholstered in “Terre des Artistes,” and the curtain is the opulent “Eden Roc.”

The Art Deco inspired “Rêverie Persane” is reminiscent of a Kilim, but is actually a looped cut and uncut velvet jacquard made using traditional techniques.
Its high rub count ensures it will stay handsome through the years.

The “Carlton” is a textile inspired by and eponymously named after the iconic Carlton Hotel in Cannes. This is a design tht pleases the eye with its soothing symmetry.  Shimmering in the light, the cut viscose pile stretches into infinity then curves back to meet the next stripe.
