Materialised is continually updating and improving their extensive collections of high performance fabrics and products, it is hard to keep up. From printing upon a vast variety of bases for furnishings, walls and ceilings, to providing an extensive collections of acoustic solutions to creating new designs to suit many a need. Originating in the healthcare industry they have a plethora of specialised products especially designed for the rigours of this sector.

Using superior print technology one can select from Materialised’s library or print your own designs. These can then be applied to dozens of base fabrics, wall vinyls and roller blinds. Their printing is very precise with performance outcomes for any and every situation. Materialised operate the fastest, wide-width textile digital printer in Australia. Perfect for commercial, hospitality, healthcare and residential spaces, base cloths and wall vinyls are all high performance fabrics that are fire retardant and many are anti-microbial. These leafy designs are by textile designer Patricia Braune.

Studio 54 is a shiny dramatic metallised vinyl. Colours are vibrant and the paper seems to almost glow. Materialised have several bases for wall coverings however this is the most exciting, and of course it is contract grade. Materialised's innovative acoustic sheers

One of the highest performing acoustic sheer available the ‘Hush’ sheers are woven with a ribbon-shaped Trevira CS yarn. Bouncing backwards and forwards sound waves are adsorbed on this filament muffling the sound and significantly reducing sound levels–not convinced, watch the video.

WhisperArt® provides a wonderful acoustic solution, printed fabric is wrapped around an acoustic sustainable panel (it has a green rating). Choose from Materialised’s library or create your own design.

Printed sheer fabrics turn an ordinary polyester textile into something super special. We have produced many a bespoke ombré in multiple colours, for walls too. Interior designer, product designer, author, and content creator, Sibella Court has written award-winning books and creates content for her own newspaper and social media channels. Plus she contributes to magazines including Belle, Vogue Living, House & Garden Australia and Domino.

The lobby of ANZ Bank, Sylvia Park in Auckland, New Zealand. This stunning velvet curtain is a continuous image. The image is divided up and each part printed and sewn together in order.

The Ovolo Woolloomooloo is a hotel with many bedhead designs. Designed by Hassell Studio these bedheads become the focus in the room. Each panel would need to be printed with a bleed to ensure a continuous flow of the design across the bedhead.

To the right is a jacquard weave and to the left a printed version by Materialised whose dye sublimation process allows for subtle printing that doesn’t affect the fabric’s performance.

Liberty Fabrics

Liberty is our oldest collection with Arthur Liberty opening in London’s Regent Street in 1875. He traded exotic goods and textiles from the ‘Far East’ and worked with artisans and manufacturers to make his own textiles and objects d’art. By the 1890’s Liberty Art Fabrics were at the forefront of avant-garde design.

The Futur Liberty collection fascinates us, an exploration of Liberty’s extensive archive and inspired by the Futurism and Vorticism movements. The result is a collection of intense and optimistic designs. On the chaise is shadow stripe weave in jade, this is a design that looks good in many a space and the scale and texture is perfect.

Floating Palace is a wallpaper from the Botanical Atlas collection: romantic, rich and sophisticated it is printed on a foilised paper but also is available in a velvet, and in two other paper colourways. View this wallpaper collection here on Liberty Fabric’s page

Silk Tree is Liberty Fabrics’ joyful and contemporary re-interpretation of a Chinoiserie design. A canopy of trees and bamboo branches shoot upwards, elongating your room, and are decorated with birds, butterflies, Persian silk tree flowers, Chinese physalis, amaryllis, and peonies. Printed either on 100% linen or a wallpaper in several charming colour-ways.

Vertigo Weave is dynamic with good texture and a ton of energy. Pictured here is Vesuvio which is one of the ‘great reds’, and there are 2 other colours, Piccadilly, and Sahara.

Ianthe Flower was created by a French Art Nouveau designer, R.Beauclair,
in approximately 1900. This design was redrawn by David Haward’s Studio, who use it to create everything
from curtains to throw cushions, or as an upholstery fabric.

This collection, for interiors, combines detailed patterns and vivid colour in signature Liberty Style. The result is beautiful and the quality extraordinary; we would expect nothing less of Liberty.

Timorous Beasties

Timorous Beasties is at the forefront of influential textile design, creating spectacular statements that are experimental, beautiful and rebellious. Timorous Beasties’ work embodies a unique diversity of pattern, ranging from design that echoes the golden age of copperplate engraving to those of a distinctly edgy nature that display chic irreverence. The studio fully engages in a discourse with textile design history by lending an aesthetic evolution to time-honoured motifs.

Timorous Beasties was founded in 1990 by Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons, who met whilst studying at the Glasgow School of Art. With an implicit sense of irony they love to invert the world of interiors. Shell and Crab above is a wonderful example, whimsical yet exquisitely opulent.

Painterly Matzu Tree comes in a compelling and gentle colour palette. Available in linen or wallpaper it is like an Asian forest

Timorous Beasties re-scale and re-juvenate botanical engravings. Epic Botanic is bold with dramatic florals. these luxurious opulent florals create a rythmical pattern. There are three rich colourways.

Honey Bee Velvet Fabric

Bees are an iconic motif for Timorous Beasties, the humble honey bee is the latest addition, following the more imperious Napoleon Bee design. Here on a gold velvet the various bees can be found on fabrics and wallpapers.

Absolutely fascinating, Winchester wallpaper comes in eleven different panel designs that can be selected and arranged as preferred. Originally designed for an 18 metre long wall in Winchester it was influenced hand-painted wallpapers found in wealthy British homes
