Beautiful curtains finish a room, framing the windows and adding warmth and character. This is especially true in many modern spaces. Curtains can be ethereal, luxurious, rustic, dramatic or discreet, however, whether toning in or standing out, they pull a room together.

Wai means water in Maori, and ‘Wailaki’ has a subtle fluidity, wavy lines in two-tones make a ripple effect. This creates a discreetly luxurious and elegantly organic look. By Designs of the Time and 100% linen choose from one of the eight colour variations of Wailaki: white, ochre, brown, dark blue or coastal grey.

Indulge in a poetic garden, Misia-Paris translates the beauty of Asian illustration onto a luxurious fabric. Little Wenzhou features river plant motifs in gold while discrete tigers play with layers of light and shade in the background. This gives the fabric a lovely depth, you can almost step into the garden. Wonderful as curtains as well as other decorative pieces, such as cushions. Bold design

Stretching from ceiling to floor the curtain in this room is sophisticated, exciting and confident. The beauty of the curtain will endure over time as the design is strong and we find reminiscent of the Art Deco movement combined with creole art. Talisman Sacré comes in two colour-ways.

Luxury curtains

Linens, velvets, patterns, silks, plus many other options, combined with pleat styles will change the sensibility of your space. Window treatments can be functional, purely decorative, or strike a balance between the two, dependent upon your space and the amount of light you prefer.

Should your beautiful curtain puddle a little on the floor, or sit a bit above? There are pros and cons, it does look tidy sitting half a centimetre above but most curtain fabrics can stretch… and shrink too. So we recommend touching the floor as this takes the weight of the drape and gives one some room if the fabric shrinks upon cleaning.

Outdoor curtains

Timorous Beasties is at the forefront of influential textile design, creating spectacular statements that are experimental, beautiful and rebellious. Timorous Beasties’ work embodies a unique diversity of pattern, ranging from design that echoes the golden age of copperplate engraving to those of a distinctly edgy nature that display chic irreverence. The studio fully engages in a discourse with textile design history by lending an aesthetic evolution to time-honoured motifs.

Timorous Beasties was founded in 1990 by Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons, who met whilst studying at the Glasgow School of Art. With an implicit sense of irony they love to invert the world of interiors. Shell and Crab above is a wonderful example, whimsical yet exquisitely opulent.

Painterly Matzu Tree comes in a compelling and gentle colour palette. Available in linen or wallpaper it is like an Asian forest

Timorous Beasties re-scale and re-juvenate botanical engravings. Epic Botanic is bold with dramatic florals. these luxurious opulent florals create a rythmical pattern. There are three rich colourways.

Honey Bee Velvet Fabric

Bees are an iconic motif for Timorous Beasties, the humble honey bee is the latest addition, following the more imperious Napoleon Bee design. Here on a gold velvet the various bees can be found on fabrics and wallpapers.

Absolutely fascinating, Winchester wallpaper comes in eleven different panel designs that can be selected and arranged as preferred. Originally designed for an 18 metre long wall in Winchester it was influenced hand-painted wallpapers found in wealthy British homes
